Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Do you accept my insurance?

A: Antelope Ambulance accepts most PPO’s, HMO’s, MediCal, Medicare / Medicare Senior Plan HMO’s. Depending on the medical necessity of the transport and the coverage your health plan offers will determine any payment for service.

Q: My insurance only paid for part of my ambulance transport. I have an unmet co-pay or deductible. Do you accept payment plans?

A: Yes. Please call our billing office and we will gladly set you up with a no interest (0%) payment plan.

Q: What ambulance is going to pick me up if I dial 9-1-1?

A: Depending on where you are located the jurisdictional contracted private ambulance or in some areas the fire department ambulance will respond to your call for help.

Q: Can I call you for an emergency?

A: If you have an emergency response, then you need to call 9-1-1 so the closest ambulance and first responders can help you. If you call Antelope Ambulance directly for emergency transport that otherwise would be referred to the 9-1-1 system, Antelope Ambulance will refer you to
the 9-1-1 system.

Q: I live in Kern County, can you pick me up for non-emergency ambulance transport?

A: Sorry, no. All emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports that originate in Kern County can only be picked up by the jurisdictional ambulance provider. Although Antelope Ambulance is a mutual aid provider to Kern County, our services are limited to providing 9-1-1 Paramedic ambulance responses at the request of Edwards Air Force Base.
